Master Your Google My Business Page

Let’s say you own a local coffee shop. You’re having a difficult time figuring out why people aren’t coming to your amazing little café. Just launching a neighborhood spot wasn’t enough. Through all of this work, you still see the Dunkin’ down the street giving your business a run for its money. There could be a very simple explanation for this. Are people aware that your business exists? Do you have a Google My Business page?

Google My Business (GMB) is a free tool that small business owners can use to showcase their business on Google. When using Google to search for different types of businesses (like “coffee” for example), people can easily find local places to fulfill their needs. All it takes is some time and effort to build your page to its fullest potential.

Why GMB is Important

Google My Business is an important tool to use when marketing your business because it gives the consumer a great first impression of your company online. When people search for your business, you want their reaction to be positive and not a reaction of confusion or disapproval. Your GMB page will increase brand awareness, as well as engagement on your website!

How HBT Uses it as a Digital Marketing Company

At HBT Digital, we like to use GMB to post company updates and company photos. This way, when potential clients search our name, it is easy to see what is new with HBT Digital and if there are any important things to know. We can also showcase products and services, reviews, and even advertise directly from the platform.

How Companies Can Use it to Their Advantage

GMB gives businesses the opportunity to advertise promotions that they have going on. Businesses can also showcase product/service photos and videos to dive deep into what it is they offer consumers. This gives customers a better idea of what they offer without ever leaving the listing. It makes it easier on the consumer to have everything in one spot.

Full Funnel Marketing says that having a GMB page means that the business will be present on Google Maps and Google’s Local Pack listings. This is a huge benefit for small businesses, especially because it’s free! Consumers can also chat with businesses through the chat feature on GMB. Texts come straight to your cell phone so you can respond via SMS. Don’t worry, Google won’t give your cell number out, or even your address, if you don’t want to.

P.S. Bing offers something similar to GMB. It’s called Bing Places for Business, and it works just as well.
