As a digital marketing agency, we value our clients and want to express our gratitude for all of their hard work every chance we get. With that being said, HBT Digital would like to extend a warm welcome to Big Brothers Big Sisters of America (BBBS) for being our “Nonprofit of the Month” for April 2021. We’re also proud to say that we’ve worked with this incredible charity.
What Does BBBS Do?
Headquartered in Tampa, FL, BBBS is a 501(c)(3) organization that pairs leaders (male/female) with a younger person who needs guidance. These “bigs” offer leadership to their “littles” while having fun, including at the movie theater or even the zoo!
Since 1904, Big Brothers Big Sisters has operated under the belief that inherent in every child is incredible potential. As the nation’s largest donor- and volunteer-supported mentoring network, Big Brothers Big Sisters makes meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers and children ages five through young adulthood in communities across the country.
“We develop positive relationships that have a direct and lasting effect on the lives of young people,” said Claire Selius, Marketing Manager at BBBS.
BBBS strives to develop positive relationships that have lasting effects on children. It is important to BBBS that children facing adversity are not left behind and can blossom like children should. The impact of BBBS can truly empower youth and strengthen communities.
“I love the Big Brothers Big Sisters! My history goes back years with this organization. Everyone needs to know about them,” said RJ Huebert of HBT Digital. “They’ve been a charity partner for over six years with my 5K races called the Great Mother’s and Great Father’s Day Races.”
Mission statement: to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth.
Vision statement: for all youth to achieve their full potential.
How to Volunteer/Donate
Big Brothers Big Sisters of America actively participates in fundraising events. The nonprofit is always looking for more volunteers as well. If you or someone you know would be a good fit, please visit the BBBS volunteer page.
“Being a Big Brother or Big Sister is one of the most enjoyable and fulfilling things you’ll ever do. You can help shape a child’s future for the better by empowering them to achieve. And the best part is, it’s actually a lot of fun. You and your Little can share the kinds of activities you already like to do,” said Selius.
