Celebrating the Fourth of July in Pittsburgh is like no other. Independence Day gathers people from all over the city to eat good food, have a beer or two, and watch some pretty amazing firework shows. Whether you favor the fireworks, enjoy BBQing all day, or even gamble at casinos, it’s no secret that we also use this holiday to have some fun while honoring our country’s independence.

Fireworks in Pittsburgh

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is a great outlet for marketing and advertising fireworks for the Fourth of July holiday. Both online and traditional copies of the newspaper are read by Pittsburgh residents, as it is the largest newspaper that serves the Pittsburgh area. PG released news of Point State Park hosting a firework show from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., along with food vendors and family activities.

Facebook is another outlet that is great for keeping people in touch with their communities. The City of Pittsburgh Facebook page has been keeping people updated with all of the Fourth of July festivities.

BBQin’ Google Ads

With the Fourth of July comes a lot of barbecuing and drinking, so many stores are marketing sales on their products for the holiday weekend. Meat businesses take advantage of the holiday because of the copious amount of BBQing that happens. Omaha Steaks is a great example of how a steak business is doing just that.

The Google search query “BBQ meat online” gives you an Omaha Steaks ad telling you that you can buy meat online for your holiday cookout. You can save more than 40 percent on burger and other meat bundles for you and your family!

Here’s another Google Ad for grills on sale during the holiday weekend. If you need a new grill, now’s the time to get one.

Rooftop Fireworks in Vegas

Fireworks are no new territory for the city that never sleeps, as casinos and strip resorts will be launching fireworks off of their own roofs this holiday! These events are being marketed via online news outlets. A news station took to Twitter for some behind-the-scenes action of what the fireworks are set up like on the roof of Treasure Island in Las Vegas.

Google events is also a great feature to attract an audience. These are easy to read and convenient for those searching for things to do on Google. Here are the holiday weekend happenings at different Las Vegas venues.

Weekend-Only Sales

Having Google Ads in place this weekend is strategic for a successful weekend of sales. Social media is also useful when marketing sales, especially sales that are targeted toward those using social media daily.

Using location to target an audience is important. Here’s an Instagram ad for a helicopter company in Pittsburgh that’s having a Fourth of July sale. Pittsburgh Heli strategically targeted HBT Digital because we are based in Pittsburgh, PA.

Here’s another Instagram ad that was shown on the HBT Digital IG feed. It’s a Fourth of July early access sale for Keeps. They’re offering a huge deal: up to 60 percent off!

Email marketing is also commonly used for holiday weekend sales, especially marketing the Fourth of July. For those who are already subscribed to emails from their favorite retail stores, there will be many emails reminding them to shop 40-50 percent off items online! Here’s what everyone’s’ inboxes are starting to look like:
